Apparently, the US just told the ICJ (International Criminal Justice Court) that we are on our own World Agenda and we ain’t listening! The issue is that sanctions are damaging the humanitarian aid needed for the people of Iran. These sanctions are considered bully tactics and the ICJ has stepped in to demand US to ease them as soon as possible. During the court hearing, Iran said the sanctions violated the 1955 Treaty of Amity, Economic Relations, and Consular Rights between Iran and the US, which grants the ICJ jurisdiction over disputes.
According to the BBC, “Judges ruled that the US had to remove “any impediments” to the export of humanitarian goods, including food, medicine and aviation safety equipment. The US argued the ruling was a “defeat” for Iran, saying it already allowed humanitarian-related transactions.”
As a result, the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has issued that the long standing Treaty of Amity between the two nations are null and void after 39 years stating that “This is a decision that is, frankly, 39 years overdue.”
These next coming months will be prove to be a roller coaster for both nations.
